What is Spectrum Sharing Services?

If you’re a carrier or a service provider, you can access non-voice frequency spectrum for other services – including ADSL broadband – via our Spectrum Sharing Service.

  • You gain access to the user’s public switched telephone service (PSTS) voice band service line.
  • You can simultaneously provide other services (typically ADSL broadband) over the high frequency portion of the line.
  • You can use Spectrum Sharing Services to provide data services via your DSLAM located in the TEBA space in Telstra exchanges.
Physical access

Physical access to Telstra facilities, either through Facilities Access or an External Interconnect Cable is a prerequisite for Spectrum Sharing Services. As part of the Facilities Access processes, the following documents will be required when requesting access to Telstra sites as a Telstra Wholesale customer. Please refer to process documents/ technical resources for further steps required prior to requesting access.
