Telstra Wholesale’s Interconnect Network Services provide interconnection between Telstra’s PSTN network and your network, facilitating the implementation and handover of a range of traffic or call types.

Typically, interconnection is used for handover of long distance and international calls, local calls between the networks, and handover of mobile traffic and other call types.

You will need interconnection if you would like to offer a full suite of telephony services to your end users.

Interconnect Network Services include:
  • Interconnect capacity, consisting of Switchports (2Mbits/s interfaces(G.703)
  • Signalling interconnection (using CCS7 network signalling using I-ISUP)
  • Synchronisation links, and
  • Network conditioning.
Interconnection with Telstra’s network requires detailed technical and commercial discussions about your proposed interconnect network, which services you require, signalling and synchronisation, compliance testing, network planning and rollout. Usually, gaining complete interconnection with Telstra takes around 12 months.
