Carriers and service providers can access non-voice frequency spectrum on the twisted metallic pair via our Spectrum Sharing Service (SSS). This same metallic pair is used to provide our analogue telephone service (POTS) to end users.

How it works
When providing SSS, we provide a Public Service Telephone Service (PSTS) voice band service to an end user and provide access to the same line to a carrier or service provider (the access seeker). This enables the access seeker to acquire SSS and to simultaneously provide other services (typically ADSL broadband) over the high frequency portion of the line.

SSS is normally used to provide data services via the carrier or service provider’s DSLAM located in the TEBA space in Telstra exchanges.

Our account managers can help you with further information about Spectrum Sharing.
