Issue 11, March 2011

Message from Glenn Osborne

Welcome to our March issue of TWNetwork.  Since January this year, we have all experienced immense challenges arising from natural disasters across the country, affecting networks across much of Australia. You can read about our crisis management response in this edition.
The results of our latest round of service assessments are in, and I’d like to thank all of you who participated in the surveys held in November. While the results are positive, we recognise that there are still opportunities for improvement and there is still more work to do. You can read about the key outcomes in this edition.

Standing firm in a crisis

In recent months, Australia has faced a series of devastating natural disasters. Severe floods impacted Queensland and areas of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. This was followed by Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi, Queensland’s worst cyclone in almost a century. At Telstra, a team of more than 60 staff representing all of the different parts of the business met every day from early January until early February to manage our response and impact on the network.
